Essential Job Functions: Safely operate Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks for waste and recyclable collection Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making multiple trips as required Engage with manual and automatic truck systems Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and move or maneuver loads up to 100 pounds; mount and dismount the truck during routes Requirements and Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the U.S. Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement At least 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years Strong safety record and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Preferred: experience as a driver or helper in a refuse company Knowledge of DOT, OSHA regulations, and traffic laws Proficient in English to communicate effectively and understand road signals and regulations Able to read and interpret maps Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position Willingness to work as needed, including weekends and holidays Additional Job Requirements: Navigate congested areas and confined spaces in urban settings Exceptional backing skills are essential for safe operations Routine entry and exit from the truck cab to service customer accounts Perform pre and post-trip inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations Interstate Waste Services is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, celebrating diversity and prohibiting discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
