Live Auditions Dates/Times Wednesday, July 9th Check-in Time: 5:30pm Start Time: 6pm Monday, July 14th Check-in Time: 9:30am Start Time: 10am O.P. Otter’s Spooktacular Surprise - Get into the Halloween spirit with trickster O.P. Otter and his SeaWorld character friends in O.P. Otter’s Spooktacular Surprise stage show! Join them as O.P. throws a Halloween costume party to celebrate fun fall traditions and treats through song, dance…and a few tricks too! Show Host Description - “Sam” (Singing Role) Sam is fun, caring, full of energy, and O.P.’s supportive best friend in the show Must be able to sing in a Soprano 2 vocal range. Previous experience in hip hop, jazz, or contemporary dance is highly preferred Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred Please prepare a 1 minute cut of one of the following songs – “I Want Candy”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Thriller” Please bring accompaniment track on your phone or other Bluetooth device as there will not be an accompanist provided. Pay Range: 18-25 USD Hourly Scurvy Squad - Singers and Musicians - Ahoy! The Scurvy Squad is a band of swashbuckling scallywags who love a good pun and perform sea shanties. The Scurvy Squad is a pirate trio who love to play their instruments, sing sea shanties, and getting everyone to join in their pirate-y joy. Guests are invited to sing and dance along with the Scurvy Squad. We are looking for musicians who can play guitar, banjo, or ukulele, as well as musicians who can sing and embody the character of a fun and joyful pirate and can play sea shanties. We are also open to vocalists able to embody the role of a joyful and fun pirate and sing sea shanties. Musicians - If you can play either a guitar, banjo or ukulele (or a combination of the three), please bring your instrument and be prepared to play one of the following sea shanties: "Drunken Sailor", "Leave Her Johnny", or "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". If you can sing as well as play your instrument, please come prepared to do so for one of the song choices. Vocalists - Please come prepared to sing a 1 minute section of one of the following sea shanties: "Drunken Sailor", "Leave Her Johnny", or "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". Pay Range: 18-25 USD Hourly Spookley's Spooky Dance Party - Host - Jack Scarecrow (Non-Singing) - Jack is gentle and kind. His “down-home” style and “common-sense” approach to solving problems helps him guide and take care of the others in the pumpkin patch. Jack is the host of a dance party with his pal Spookley and invites everyone to join along as they dance to Spookley's favorite Halloween songs. High energy, bubbly, friendly, and able to keep the party going. This role will include basic dance choreography, some script memorization and improvisation. Please come prepared with a one-minute, family-friendly, comedic monologue. Be prepared to read from a side and be asked to improvise a dance. Pay Range : 18-21 USD Hourly Mermaid Meet And Greet Mermaids (Non-Singing) - The SeaWorld mermaids are a highlight for Spooktacular. Sitting upon their royal shell throne in an underwater themed backdrop, our mermaids bring Spooktacular magic to every guest interaction as they come up to take pictures and share stories of their life in the magical world under the sea, and how happy they are to be visiting all of their animal and human friends at SeaWorld. This role requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, have strong character acting skills, improv skills, and a bubbly, kind and patient demeanor. Please come prepared with a one-minute, family-friendly, comedic monologue. Be prepared to read from a side and be asked to improvise. Pay Range: 18-20 USD Hourly Availability Must have flexible availability. Dates of performance: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 5th to November 2nd. Park hours are 10am-7pm. Rehearsal dates are TBD, will be mid-end of August in the weekdays. What It Takes To Join The Squad Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Bring your animated, fun, and outgoing personality! Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred. Ability to openly accept performance feedback/critiques and adapt accordingly. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures while maintaining a high-level of professionalism and performance skills. Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule – i.e. ability to work opening and closing shifts, as well as after-hour rehearsals. Consistently and expertly executes stage direction and show content as directed by Event and Show Producers and Entertainment Leadership. Previous experience in Theme Park Entertainment, Dance, Theatre, or related field is preferred. Able to work in an environment with atmospheric effects (fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubbles, snow, scents, etc.). Must be able to positively interact with park guests and team members of all ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs. Must have strong verbal communication skills. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. Position engages in the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks. Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump up repeatedly for the duration of your shift. Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities. Ability to openly accept performance feedback/critiques and adapt accordingly. Being a team player is a must and the key to being successful as a Spooktacular Performer. Ready to haunt the night away?
