Job Summary:

The Pebble Beach Company Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for aligning Human Resource strategies and practices with the Pebble Beach Company business objectives and culture and be a strategic partner to Pebble Beach Company Leaders and Employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership:

  • Build strong relationships with Pebble Beach Company Leaders and Employees to align our people strategy with business goals
  • Embrace Pebble Beach Company culture and ensure Pebble Beach Company Leaders and Employees act as brand ambassadors

Employee Relations:

  • Listen, coach and guide Pebble Beach Company Leaders and Employees in employee relations and performance issues, and promptly and effectively address as necessary
  • Assist in development, implementation, and adherence to Company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints
  • Ensure departments, leaders and employees maintain a positive work environment

Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance in departments with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Educate Pebble Beach Company Leaders in federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Encourage and champion diversity, equity and inclusion

Talent Development:

  • Serve as point person for Performance Reviews and Development Plans for the teams you support
  • Identify training, coaching and development needs of supported departments
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Manager and facilitate various trainings as needed
  • Educate, mentor and partner with Pebble Beach Company Leaders in ongoing talent management and goal development for departments and employees
  • On going communication and listening to management and employee feedback; and strategize improvement action plans and initiatives

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Understand and regularly assess compensation structure for the departments you support to ensure Pebble Beach Company remains current and competitive
  • Participate in annual local and national wage surveys
  • Understand all Pebble Beach Company Employee Benefits and provide ongoing education as needed
  • Ability to answer management and employee questions regarding compensation and benefits

Talent Acquisition:

  • Understand staffing needs of supported departments and play active role in recruiting, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations
  • Champion and promote Pebble Beach Company in every opportunity

Culture & Engagement:

  • Events -- Partner with HR team to help plan, promote, and execute Employee Events
  • Recognition Programs -- Partner with HR team to help plan, promote, and execute Employee Rewards and Recognition Programs
  • Exit Interviews -- Conduct exit interviews and strategize/implement improvement action plans or recognition based on feedback
  • Ensure ongoing fostering of positive Pebble Beach Company culture

Teamwork:

  • Support and assist Human Resources team in areas of expertise when needed
  • Understand all Pebble Beach Company Human Resources processes and programs and provide ongoing education or direction as needed

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Human Resources, plus 3 years Hospitality experience
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of federal and California employment law
  • Attention to detail

  • Strategic Thinking -- ability to think strategically and conceptually
  • Relationships -- ability to manage/consult successfully at all levels within an organization

  • Technical / Software -- Excellent computer skills including the understanding of HRIS systems (UKG Ready a plus) and Microsoft Office software

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written)
  • SHRM certification
  • Proven knowledge and work experience in a union environment
