Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting both day-to-day HR operations and full-cycle talent acquisition. This hybrid position will be split evenly between HR generalist duties and recruitment functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the pet or ecommerce industry and possess a deep understanding of HR practices across various states, including call center and warehouse environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources (50%)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters; address concerns with empathy, discretion, and consistency in line with company policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records.
  • Provide HR support across a multi-state, remote, and hybrid workforce.
  • Support the administration and interpretation of policies and procedures for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Assist with performance management, coaching, corrective actions, and HR investigations as necessary.
  • Partner with leadership to implement HR strategies that support business objectives and promote a positive workplace culture.

Talent Acquisition (50%)

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts for both hourly and salaried positions, with a focus on call center and warehouse roles.
  • Develop job postings, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, extend verbal offers, and facilitate onboarding.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand department needs and deliver qualified candidates in a timely manner.
  • Proactively build pipelines for current and future staffing needs using various sourcing strategies.
  • Champion an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally within the pet industry, ecommerce, or high-volume environments such as warehouses or call centers.
  • Proven experience working with a diverse workforce including exempt, non-exempt, remote, and multi-state employees.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance standards, and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and ATS platforms.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
