Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented International Trade Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of international trade including some of the following depending on the team’s needs. The position is up to 25 hours / week with the intent to last through the school semester (schedule varies depending on school / teams needs). Internship starts ASAP.

What You'll Do Market & Global Policy Research:

• Conduct instructed market research using government databases and/or commercial tools.
• Identify new international trade show opportunities aligned with NC’s priority sectors.
• Monitor global trade policies and summarize relevant updates for the team for strategic markets as requested.
• Benchmark trade promotion strategies from other U.S. states or countries.

Marketing, Communications & Content Creation:

• Create simple promotional templates for outreach.
• Help prepare content for the NC Export Newsletter and Export Coffee Talk archives.
• Build templates and visual tools to support local engagement with economic development professionals across the state.

International Trade Show & Webinar L ogistics:

• Assist organizing trade booth logistics and required materials for overseas shows.
• Assist with Zoom/Teams tech support during webinars and capture session notes.
• Support scheduling and registration for team events, webinars, and Export Coffee Talks.
• Help track and follow up on trade show invoice submissions.

Database Management / Targeted Outreach Support:

• Using the Gazelle database, research relevant indicators to create outreach lists, relevant trade shows, and other guiding inputs.
• Update company information in the CRM

Client Support & Engagement:

• Join select virtual client meetings to assist with notes and follow-up.

Administrative and Internal Process Support:

• Design forms and spreadsheets to improve internal workflows and team tracking.
• Help update internal documentation on team processes and orientation materials

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a degree in international business, international relations, or a related field.

LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva or Salesforce is a plus.
