Job Description

The Product & Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing pricing strategies, conducting market research, and supporting new products go-to-market planning. This position is responsible for analyzing pricing trends, monitoring competitor activity, and collaborating with sales, purchasing, marketing and finance teams to develop data-driven pricing strategies that drive profitability and market competitiveness. The analyst will also support business expansion by conducting research on new products, assisting with pricing models and partnering with the marketing team to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pricing:

  • Develop and implement competitive pricing models for parts and products including quantity breaks, list price, multiplies and custom discounting based on market trends, competitor analysis and company objectives.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis on pricing, costs, and margin to optimize profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze historical sales data, competitor pricing, market trends to optimize pricing strategies for company and individual customers.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for pricing adjustments and improvements to enhance revenue growth.
  • Develop, prepare, and present reports and dashboards on pricing performance, sales trends and margin analysis across product categories, account types and/or individual customer accounts.

Products:

  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of new, current, and discontinued parts in the Parts Management Platform (PMP) ensuring accurate classification, costing and database management.
  • Develop and implement pricing structures for new parts to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, and other internal departments to ensure seamless product launches.
  • Track performance of parts and products, suggesting changes to pricing strategies or stocking inventory to drive sales and profitability.
  • Support & Administrative:
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance pricing and product management processes systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Serve as a pricing and product subject matter expert for internal teams providing guidance on pricing policies and resolve pricing-related inquiries.
  • Ensure clear communication of pricing and product changes across all stakeholders.
  • Manage high-level projects related to pricing, optimization, competitive analysis and products systems and processes.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing pricing methodologies and implementing advanced pricing tools, systems, and reporting.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures for pricing and part number management to streamline workflows and improve accuracy across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and delegate tasks such as part number creation, pricing updates, and database maintenance to sales operations team members ensuring timely updates and accuracy.

COMPETENCY, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present data-driven insights and complex pricing methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance and purchasing.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing market conditions.
  • Detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure data integrity in pricing and part number management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years of experience in pricing analysis, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • At least 1+ years of experience working with large data sets and extracting insights using tools such as Excel or Business Intelligence Software such as SiSense or PowerBI

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in process and system improvements and automation.
