Job Description

The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the company. The VP of Finance will work closely with the CFO, CEO, and executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's objectives, ensuring its financial stability, profitability, and long-term growth. The VP of Finance will manage financial planning, reporting, risk management, and investment strategies while leading the finance team to ensure the organization’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning : Assist in developing and implementing the company’s financial strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and long-term objectives.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis : Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate financial reports, providing actionable insights to support decision-making and financial planning.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting : Lead budgeting processes and financial forecasting to support business planning. Ensure financial targets are met while managing resources effectively.
  • Cash Flow & Liquidity Management : Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments. Optimize working capital and support business operations with effective financial management.
  • Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks. Ensure robust risk management strategies and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight : Ensure the company adheres to all accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial laws. Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Investment & Capital Management : Lead investment strategy, capital allocation, and financing decisions. Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Cost Management : Develop cost-control measures, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements across the organization.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Foster a high-performance culture within the department, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Stakeholder & Investor Relations : Serve as a key point of contact for investors and financial stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication regarding the company’s financial performance.
  • Strategic Decision Support : Collaborate with senior leadership to assess the financial impact of business opportunities, including acquisitions, mergers, partnerships, and market expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Education : A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A CPA, CFA, or MBA with a focus on finance is highly preferred.
  • Experience : At least 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position such as Director of Finance, VP of Finance, or similar.
  • Leadership Skills : Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully managing and mentoring a finance team.
  • Financial Expertise : Comprehensive understanding of financial modeling, accounting principles, financial statements, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strategic Mindset : Proven ability to think strategically, with experience in aligning financial goals to drive company profitability and growth.
  • Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analytical Abilities : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Technology Proficiency : Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
