Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor contributes to the ongoing logistics of plant operations by providing skilled to expert-level knowledge of receiving packaging materials, raw ingredients, equipment and parts while coordinating the shipment of finished goods with a “safety first” mindset. This position is responsible for guiding, assisting, training, mentoring and leading the warehouse team in the completion of daily warehouse duties in a safe, efficient and accurate manner. The supervisor’s responsibilities include troubleshooting any logistics or warehouse operations as necessary and schedule/support the warehouse team. All CPS Supervisors have the responsibility to work with the Quality Department to ensure food safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize the daily shipping schedule to plan and lead daily activities of the warehousemen to ensure continual flow of inbound and outbound trailers.
- Schedule the warehousemen appropriately to complete all inbound/outbound and production operations on a daily basis while utilizing the labor to cost per case.
- Work in conjunction with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure all trailers are loaded and unloaded as scheduled.
- Ensure all outbound finished goods shipments are shipped to quality standards; including pallet and product condition, trailer condition, product weight and correct quantities.
- Ensure all inbound, raw and packaging materials are received in acceptable condition.
- Work alongside the Inventory Control Coordinator to ensure all receipts are entered into SAGE daily.
- Review and complete all departmental documentation to verify it is completed utilizing Good Documentation Practices for an SQF level 3 facility.
- Review Daily Shipping Schedule to ensure proper inventory levels for the current week’s shipments.
- Work as a team with other department supervisors to ensure all daily duties are completed throughout the facility.
- Promote good communication with truck drivers to help with dock flow.
- Procure departmental supplies as needed and within the budget.
- Act as first contact for forklift issues maintaining a good working relationship with the forklift maintenance company to keep forklift fleet in good operating conditions.
- With guidance from the manager, completion of performance evaluations and individual employee meetings.
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse owning the Master Sanitation Schedule for the department.
- Lead by example to ensure all warehouse sanitation tasks are complete and that all safety guidelines are followed.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse at all times.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the CPS Management team.
Education and Skills:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3-5 years warehouse experience
- Experience with SAGE ERP or similar ERP system
- Strong Organizational skills
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Good skills in Microsoft Office
- Experience with inventory management and safety initiatives
- Forklift certified
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Excellent working knowledge of basic math, including metric weights and measures
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally at all levels within the organization
- Ability to act as a “coach” and motivator, and demonstrate a positive influence on team members
- Requires ability to formulate, give, take, and follow directions, demonstrated time management skills as well as organizational development and improvement skills

Physical Demands:
- Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with the following: production equipment, scales, pallet jacks, drum dollies, mops, brooms, portable stairs, hoses, forklifts, etc.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis daily and move heavier weights using proper equipment or team lifting techniques
Work Environment:
- Requires ability to work in an environment that may contain odors, dust, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel as required (e.g.: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hair net, uniform, face shield, as required)
